Who Started Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?

It was Louis Bamberger who organized employees to march in the first-ever celebration held in 1924.

This first parade went from 145th Street all the way to Macy's flagship store on 34th Street. Shortly after giant balloons were introduced, becoming one of the favorite parts of this annual parade.

With thousands of people enjoying the festivities, the famous Thanksgiving Day Parade was born and continues over 90 years later!
