What Really Happened to the Snakes in Ireland?

Despite the popular myth, St. Patrick didn't drive all of the snakes out of Ireland. 

Long used as a story to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, it turns out Ireland never had snakes at all. 

Thanks to its climate, glaciers and an ice age, snakes have never lived in this beautiful country.
